Suicide Bombers Storm FC Lines in Bannu

Bannu district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa witnessed a brazen attack this morning as militants launched a multi-pronged assault on the Federal Constabulary (FC) Lines, resulting in a dramatic gun-battle that is still unfolding.

Attack Unfolds

According to police, a suicide bomber rammed an explosive-rigged vehicle into the main gate of the FC Lines early Tuesday. The blast was powerful enough to scatter debris along Kohat Road and shake nearby residential quarters. Security Forces Strike Back

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sajjad Khan confirmed that security personnel launched a swift counter-operation, aiming to flush militants out of the complex. He said at least four terrorists have so far been killed, while five policemen sustained injuries. The operation is now in its closing stages. Other media outlets and eyewitness reports cited as many as five attackers killed, with one still cornered inside the office building. Damage to nearby homes and infrastructure was also reported as the crossfire intensified.

Authorities have sealed the entire area surrounding the FC Lines. Police are advising residents to stay indoors while the operation wraps up. Though the initial explosion triggered panic across nearby neighbourhoods, a coordinated response from police, FC, and special units controlled the situation swiftly.
